ZMI Research / Standards

Editorial standards

Make the reasoning visible. Keep the uncertainty honest.

ZMI Research exists to help readers prepare for market decisions. That requires a clear separation between facts, historical evidence, interpretation, conditional scenarios, and what remains unknown.

01

Evidence before certainty

We do not present a market opinion, historical tendency, or model output as a guaranteed outcome. Directional views are labeled as leans and remain subordinate to current price behavior.

02

Sources readers can evaluate

Material economic, policy, geopolitical, and company claims should be supported by primary sources whenever practical. Specialist analysis may add context, but it should not obscure the underlying evidence.

03

Research with defined limits

Published statistics should identify the market, period, session definition, eligible population, exclusions, event definition, and material limitations needed to understand the claim.

04

Preparation before hindsight

Premarket conditions and scenarios are documented before the session. Later reviews evaluate them against what occurred without rewriting the original premise after the outcome is known.

05

Corrections without concealment

Material factual or analytical errors will be corrected promptly. When a correction changes the meaning of a published conclusion, the update should be dated and explained.

06

Responsible use of AI

AI may assist with research organization, data processing, editing, and content production. Human editorial judgment remains responsible for the published interpretation, framing, and final claims.

Editorial distinctions

What readers should be able to tell apart.

Fact
A verifiable event, measurement, statement, or data point attributable to a named source or ZMI dataset.
Historical tendency
An observed result from a defined population. It is context—not a promise that the next observation will behave the same way.
Interpretation
ZMI’s explanation of what the available facts and evidence may mean.
Conditional scenario
A prepared path that becomes relevant only if specified price behavior or market conditions appear.
Unknown
A question the available evidence cannot resolve. We would rather label uncertainty than fill it with confidence.

Accountable market intelligence

Preparation is stronger when the assumptions are visible.
